A Story.
There is a story told of Caherhill about a passage where the Daneswere in the habit of crossing.They discovered a barrel of gold tied with a chain which reached from the top of the hill to the barrel of gold and a big bull dog looking after it.They fought hard for the barrel of gold and anyone could near it ,if they did the dog would tear them to pieces.There was a small lake where the treasure was hidden and but for the brave dog the Danes could be as rich as a king.- Collector
