- Póra Capall was an herb that grew in Cnoc-an-Alban Lake. On May eve the young men and women of the place went to the lake and picked this herb. It was washed and dried and boiled in a skillet. It was then strained and the water was mixed with whiskey and sugar and put into bottles. It was used as a "shirup" for colds during winter and spring. The old people say it was better than Doctors' bottles.Áine Ní Bhríain, Fraóchan, Sráid na Cathrach
