- ''Brochán Bán'' was made from green cabbage, bacon, Oat-meal, and sheeps or cows milk. Sheeps milk was the better.
The green cabbage was well boiled and then cut up fine. The bacon was fried and the juice was put on the cabbage. The oatmeal was boiled in the milk and then poured over the cabbage. The whole lot was well mixed. This was eaten with fried bacon and potatoes.
