- Long ago the children used to go in their bare feet until they were sixteen year.
Once upon a time there was a woman who had one daughters. One day the daughters foot got sore and the woman could not cure it. One night a poor woman came to the door and asked the woman for a nights lodging and the woman gave it to her. The poor woman went up to the fire and looked at the childs foot and she took a big needle out of it and when she was going away she told the woman not to throw water that people wash their feet in where people walk.- Collector
