  1. A Leipreacán is a little man with a red coat and a green cap and is usually called a fairy.
    One night long ago Pat Early was going home from a céildhe house and as he was going out into the field where the fort is he heard some hammering and when he went over near to where the noise was he could hear nothing and he looked around but he could not see anything. He went on for home again and he heard someone day "Dia Luain is Dia Mháirt" three times. When he looked he saw a little tiny man sitting under a mushroom and he was fixing shoes.
    He went down nearer to him and said "You are late working." The fairy said, "aren't those men over there working later."
