  1. There was once a man named James Martin who lived in Louth long ago, he was noted for tying corn and he would be busy until Christmas because there were no binders there at that time.
    One day in July he was tying corn in a field owned by Patrick MacArdle. Macardle drove the mill and Martin tied the corn.
    The day was very hot and after a few hours Martin got tired. MacArdle was too clever for him he went slowly and often he stopped on the other side of the field.
    On that same day there was an election in Louth. Martin saw that the man would not come from the mill and give him a hand so he said talk about one man one vote, one man one mill and left the man by himself.
