- There are many places of interest where I live and all round it.
In olden times it was called Mount Ashe or Mount of Joy. It was called so because there were many Ash trees growing round it.
Not far from the dwelling house there is a mount which was a fortress in olden days. It is said that it was the Firbolgo that built it. An old tradition says that the earth from which it was built was carried by women in there aprons from the hollow below.
One time a man cut trees round it and it is said he never had a days lick afterwards, all his stock died.
