  1. My father remembers to hear his father saying that there was a hedge school in James Matthews's field in Tully. The field is alongside a by-road and only a few yards from the owner's house. He does not know who taught there.
    There was also one in George Gartlan's field in Lannet. The teacher's name was Rooney.
