- My home is situated in the townland of Dunany in the parish of Togher. There are about 17 families in my district. There are approximately 60 people. Nearly al lthe houses are slated but the new ones are tiled. There is an old man named Owen Murphy who is over ninety years. He doesn't know any Irish but he can tell stories in English.
House were more numerous than they are now but the population was larger. The ruins of most of them are to be seen to this day. In former years some of the people emigrated to America and to other countries. All the land in my district is good. There is a stream which drains the surplus water from the land and runs into the sea at "Dunany Point". Here the land runs in a sharp point. There is a wood in my district called "Dunany Wood".- Collector
