Brick were made in a field at the back of Oriel Temple demesne. all that is left of that industry is a field named the Brick Field.
A linen mill was in use too. The place where it was is known as the "Bleach".
There were a lot of sawmills too. Two were in the Back Square and three at the Barrick Gate. All we have to of those is sawdust.
Lime was burned in a kiln in the Molly. the kiln is there still but lime is not burned.
Farming machinery is still being mended here. Wheel-making is still being done to a small extent. In Ballypousta lime is still being burned.
