    Many years ago a very old woman lived alone in a cottage.

    Many years ago a very old woman lived alone in a cottage. She was so poor she had not a bit of food.
    Suddenly the door opened, and a very old and bent man came in. He asked her for some food.
    She told him that she had not a bit in the house.
    "O" says he "you have plenty of food". Just put the things on the table. When she put them on the table, she put plates, cups and saucers.
    Suddenly she heard a rumble of noise and the table was filled with food.
