- About 60 years ago a murder was comitted in a place called Coney hall Mornington. This place was occupied by a man called Brabazon. He employed two maids a cook and a housemaid.
Mr Brabazon was a handsome young man. The cook was very much in love with him and would be very vexed if she saw anyone talking to him.
One day she saw the housemaid talking to their boss for a while. So she swore she would have her revenge. The two had a row and the cook struck the other girl with a hatchet The housemaid fell against the throw in the scullery and where her head struck the wall hair and blood is still to be seen there and cannot be removed. And at night the hair is seen shaking and the blood is seen flowing.
And if anyone is sleeping near that part of the house they are pulled out of bed and left standing on the floor.- Collector
