Tops and pop guns used to be made by the children going to school. An old woman call Catty the rush used to go about selling peeled rushes. These used to be dipped in grease and lit and put in a thing called a grissed. There is a lime kiln in Fairland Kentstown and it is used still the name of the people that work in it is Farrell.
