Hidden-Treasure.
About forty years ago two men named John Mooney and Nicholas O'Rourke dreamed three nights in succession that there was gold hid at Mr. Bannon's barley field gap. They went to get it three times but they failed because there was a superstition that one of their lives would be lost in their adventures. No one ever dug for the gold and it is supposed to be there yet in crocks. The field is along the road. Maisie Bannon, 10 the November, 1931.
I got this from my father, John Bannon, Kilcooley, Co. Meath.- Collector
