- Situated on the top of a hill in Galtrim is a very ancient moate. There is a story told that going from the Moate across the road to another hill opposite was a bar of gold and it is believed that an old fairy used to wach over the gold. It is said that if one dug for the gold there was a cat under the ground and if the cat got away there was a life to be lost but if the cat was seized the gold would be found. It is said that there is an iron door leading into this moate and that it is full of fairies.
