    line of his ancestors smiths, his fathers, grandfather, and great grand father.
    The forge is a small building with a doorway on one end. It is a large door-way capable of letting in carts and horses. It is covered with slates, but in former times it was thatched, and you could see the smoke coming through the roof. There is only one fire-place erected, some three feet off the floor on a large hob. It is about six feet long with a stone water trough at the end for cooling the red hot irons.
    The bellows are at the far end of the hob. It is a leather implement with a long iron nozzle with small hole in it. This iron nozzle is riveted on to a large leatyher bag made of fine leather
