- There are many stories told of buried treasure guarded by fierce beasts. There is one legend about a treasure being buried in a field belonging to Mr Eivers near the banks of the river Boyne. This treasure is believed to be guarded by a very fierce black hound. The person who would undertake to unearth it is allowed five minutes to take the treasure. If he is not able to cross the Boyne in that time the hound is liberty to pursue him and woe betide(continues on next page)
