Pat Dixon, while cutting turf in the bog, found a fairly small ferkin of butter, with the lid tightly on. Taking it up, the wood fell asunder, the butter remaining which they tasted, it was as fresh as any other butter, though it looked like cheese, very hard, and yellow.
