2. The Care of Our Farm Animals

   On our farm at home there are a good many animals such as:- cattle, horses and calves, and there are a lot of chickens and hens. Nearly all our milking cows have names - some of them are:- Magpie Polly, Freisin, Fairy, Miss Lynch, Tiny and Miss Waldron. I have often heard the farm-boy driving out the cows after milking and he shouts - "Hip, Hip" or "Come out, Come on" and he calls them by their names In the fine weather when the calves are fed in the field he calls them to their food by rattling the handles of their buckets and shouting
