- Once upon a time a man said he would kill the Banshee if he saw her. One night as he was coming home from Oldcastle, he said he would go through the fields for a short cut.
As he was just in the middle of the wood he heard the Banshee crying. He walked along till he saw her, when he saw her he made a jump at her. "Go home and mind your dying child," said she. When the man went home his wife came out crying and told him his child had just died.
