Handed in by Maureen MacLoughlin; Grange, Bective. Maureen is 12 years of age and in Std. V.
There is a ghost seen at Bective Church in the shape of a black dog. It was seen by several people who were afraid to pass the place again.
One night a man named James Loughran was coming home from Dublin where he had delivered two loads of hay. When he came as far as Bellinter Gates the horses would not pass. He had to get down and lead them by. After that his horses were always very nervous at that particular place. This happened ten years ago.
