    The masters used to lodge in the house nearest to the school. The poor people gave them food for the instruction and the rich gave them money. They used to go around here and there.
    They used to teach Irish, Latin, sums, writing and reading. The name of the reading book was "Reading- made-Easy" The children used to write on a slate and when they could write well they got quills and paper. They used to be seated round in a ring and the master in the middle. There used to be a big flat stone for the blackboard, and they used to w rite on it with a piece of a sharp stone.
