- Ghost story:- At Tom Hill's Ballalley, Kells there is a room that is haunted. Paddy Reynolds told Paddy Tuite Jonesboro' that when he was trheshing in it he had to sleep in the room while trying to sleep he heard some noise in the room and on lighting the candle he saw what appeared to be a turkey. He slept very little with fear and when at work next day the men asked him did he find anything in the room. He said "Yes". They told him he was lucky he wasn't thrown out the window to a big black hole where the turkey lived.
- One time Fr Keenan P.P. of Kilakees was going through the domain of Brackea Booker who lived in Bensford. As he drew near to Booker, Booker shouted "Keenan, you won't make a duck-pass of my(continues on next page)
