    of bread. Long ago there was a cooper in each district to mend the churn.
    It is said that if a red-haired woman comes in when the churning is going on she should not be let go out until the churning is over for fear that she would take the butter of the milk.
    When a man comes into the house when the churning is going on he should not light his pipe fearing he would take the butter off the milk.
