You hid the vulture and you showed the dove
You hid the fox and showed the artless lamb
And you knew how to counterfeit and sham
You kept to me a polished sleek outside
You were my darling till the knot was tied
And then oh then a sudden change took place
You tore the mask and showed a brazen face
All your perfections fled to come no more
Your boiling mouth a whirlpool of lies
And flaming anger is pictured in your eyes

There you drank it drugs and dregs and all
