The potatoes are dropped in a line about nine inches apart in a drill, and about one foot in a ridge. They have to be sprayed twice. Some people spray three times. We dig the drills with a ploug, and the ridges with a spade. We put the good ones in pits, and give the little ones to the pigs. Potatoes were used long ago as startch.
