    I
    I am a tidy farmer on the look out for a wife.
    That would make me very happy for the rest of my dear life;
    I'm sixty four or something more, but you need'nt write that down.
    For I fell in love the other day with the Star of Carlanstown.
    II
    I met her near the village in the midddle of the day.
    Her bicycle was punctured as we met upon the way.
    I offered to repair it and although I saw her frown.
    She expressed delight, so I made it right for the Star of Carlanstown.
    This song was written about a girl in Carlanstown by P. J Gaynor
