- (continued from previous page)they were supposed to quarrel. When a person was going to a fair with cattle and he met a friend on the road, the latter would say "May you have the height of luck". If a stranger met him he would have to walk back three steps with the seller for luck. The people would also walk three steps with a coffin when they met it. When a person would carry any implement on his or her shoulder into a house, he or she would be put out and the implement still on their shoulder. If the person did not do so he or she would not grow any bigger. The days for getting married are - Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth, Wednesday the best day of all. Thursday for losses, Friday for crosses and Saturday no luck at all. When a person was going anyplace and if he saw a magpie on his journey on his left hand side of the road it was for bad luck. If he saw a magpie on his right it was for good luck. When a person would not be working well the "thread" would be put in his pocket unknown to him.
