used side-cars. Some years ago when the wedding party would be proceeding home from the marriage two of the guest that were i the car would get down and run to the bride's house one for the bride and the other for the bridegroom and whoever won the race would get a bottle of whiskey and he would bring it back and treat the guest. Then when the bottle was empty it was handed to the bride and she threw it on a stone and if she broke it, it was a sign of good luck and if she did not break it, it was a sign of ill luck.
