    is a remarkable hill in the valley called, "Croch Scannán" or "Croch Scannail" or "Croch Scrannail." Local people say that this was a "Crannóg" or lake dwelling and that the valley all round it was once a lake. Formerly there were standing stones and blocks of wood round this hill.
