- Home-Made ointment.There is an ointment also made which will cure burns without leaving any scars. It is made from the roots of daisies - the bark of alder and unsalted butter.This is prepared by getting the roots of daisies and the bark of a young alder tree; boiled together in a saucepan with a good bit of unsalted butter, for half an hour.Then the roots and the boor tree are picked out and the remains are left to cool.
