the estate. The young man was told to give the Squire a signet ring he would find on the floor, which his grandson would recognise as his grandfather's property. Next instant the coffin had disappeared and at dawn the Squire's servants came and took the youth to the mansion. When the youth related his experiences the old Squire flew into a terrible rage and swore he would have the young man beheaded, until he saw the ring. When he recovered he sent for his servants and ordered them to carry out his grandfathers wishes and soon the four pots of gold were brought to light. After some delay the Squire distributed the gold.
The Squire then sold the estate and left for England. The poor people who received the wealth succeeded in buying the estate, which they divided amongst themselves and settled down in this place that had been their forefathers.
