    Of the McCabe mansion one dark night, and away they went at a trot across the country, heading for the nearest town, to hide until a marriage ceremony could be arranged by a friendly priest.
    The girl must have made some noise when getting ready, however, or she must have dropped some hint about her intended elopement, because very soon they were being followed. The hue and cry back in the farmyard was terrific. Dogs were barking, men were shouting orders for saddling of horses. Every male member of the McCabe family were soon out in pursuit of the runaway cousin, or warning neighbours to watch out for her.
