- (continued from previous page)who lived long ago in our neighbouhood and cut bushes which were growing in a fort. When he got out of bed the next morning his hair had all turned grey. It is said that another man who cut bushes on a fort found on getting out of bed the next morning that the hair had all fallen off one side of his head. Another man who was known to have gone astray and it is said he was led astray by the fairies. It is said that if you turn your coat inside out and to turn your cap back to front you will get home. So, he turned his coat and a number of little fairies with red coats came around him and it is said that it was the fairies that brought him home. Another dark night a small gathering of people were in a house called Galligans. The girl in the house had washed her feet on that night. There came a knock at the door and she was taken.
