    was left in place of the boy that was taken, by whose lamenting and crying the father and mother of the boy could not stand, and after a while decided to do away with it, but one night while they were sitting at the fire they saw all the little hands tapping at the window, they wondered what it was, but at last a voice from out side spoke and said, calling the man by his name, "Oh God help poor Larry, God help poor Larry" and at this the mother inside began to cry but the voice spoke again and said in a jeering manner, "If you want your son Larry, go to Lough Lene and bring the boys uncle with you and watch the fifth horse that comes from the water at the quarry and snatch his rider for that will be your son, and no matter what your wife sees from you go till you come back she is not to cry, for if she cries, Larry will be taken back."
