- The place where I live is Castlepollard. The Irish name is Cionn Torc which means the head of the boar. It is so called because it was there that Diarmuid was wounded in his pursuit with Gráinne. Fionn caught up on them at Cionn Torc. Diarmuid asked for a drink of water. Fionn went down to the well for a drink for him He took the water up in his hands but when he got to the place where Diarmuid was the water had all leaked away. The well is now called."The well of the leaking palms""Tobar na mbos toilSome of the townlands adjoining Castlepollard are Slieveboy = The yellow mountain
