- There are several fairy forts around Castlepollard. They are called forts, raths and mounts. They are enclosed by a circular ditch and are about 6 yds in diameter. There is a fairy fort in the field near the school. It is round and there are trees growing around it.The following is a list of them:-Paddock fort
