In the house are the relics of the gun which Cromwell the planter used when he came to Ireland in the year sixteen fifty four. - Cooleighter my native district is situated about two miles east of Collinstown school. In this district there are nine small farmers. The land is very "deep, brown, and is very suitable for potatoes.There are ten families in this district, the O Brien's, Murrays, Laws, Stewards, Sullivans, Connors, Mulvanies, Colmans, Cahills and Mac Dermots.
