  1. The Drumcree Hedges School
    At the corner of Harry Reilly's garden the hedge school of Drumcree was situated about one hundred and years ago. It was built of stone and was thatched. Michael Murphy was the school master. His mother and himself lived in a house which was attached to the school and they had a little shop there, There was a great number of children going to the school. They learned reading, writing, arithmetic, grammar and geography in it. When Pat McCabe was seven years old he received confirmation
