- There is an old castle in my district. The name of it is Dervotstown Castle. It is a very old castle. There are only four walls of it standing.
There are two door-ways in it. They are in the shape of a horse-shoe..
The walls are built of stone.
The castle is built up on a hill.
The walls of it are about ten or twelve feet in height. It was besieged by Cromwell. - Causestown castle is situated on the Delvin-Athboy road near a fort. The field in which it is was a forest of trees. All the trees are cut down except one or two in the middle of the field.(continues on next page)
