- When the sheep were sheared the wool was washed and dried. Then it was carded and made into rolls. There was a spinning wheel in every house. A spindle was put in the wheel. The rolls were put on the spindle, and spun into yarn.
- The furze blossoms were got and boiled. When it was boiling about a half an hour the flowers were taken out and the article to be dyed was put into the water.
