- (continued from previous page)the famous school in Clonard the monks were out for exercise and one of them who knew the man asked him what he had in the basket. He replied that it was young pups that he was going to drown. The monk saying he was greatly interested in young animals asked to see them and the man replied that they were dirty little animals and that he would not be interested in them at all. However the monk insisted and when he saw the seven tiny babies he took the basket from the man whom he ordered to go home. The babies were reared and afterwards educated at the famous School and in course of time became seven bishops. They ministered in different parts of the world but each as he was growing old requested that he should be buried in Cloonfad in the parish of Kinnegad near Clonard.(continues on next page)
