Master Costello had a school in the present Joe Quinn's Barn - Clonfad.
Tom Quinn - his father and his uncle James went to school to him.
Ned Salmon & Mike Kelly also went to his school. It is over 100 years since the school was there.
The pupils used to pay the teachers.
Essay Finlay taught Prayers and simple reading Catechism - but was not much of a scholar herself Murtagh was a great teacher and made great scholars. - Making meal. They used to dry the oats in a pot on the fire.
