A long time ago there lived a very rich man named Captain Doyne. At that time the law was that everyone had to give up his gold. This man instead of giving up his, hid it. He divided it into two parts and buried it in the garden. He wrote in Irish over one portion; "There is as much more the other side of the gooseberry bush."
Many years after when he was dead another man bought the place. A poor man from Connemara was looking for work. He was put to work in the garden and found the Gold and the notice. As he was from Connemara he knew Irish so he dug the far side of the bush and got the money. He was rich ever after. - Collector
