   night. The washing soda is dissolved in a pot of water and then it is put in the barrel and then the spraying is done with a spraying can. Three barrels go to the acre.
   In the autumn we dig the potatoes with spades and we pick them. We always put the potatoes in a pit in the field. The potatoes that are sown in our district are Kerrs Pinks and Champions.

   My father sows about an acre and a half of potatoes and each year the amount increases. My father and brother prepare the ground. They never manure the soil before turning it up. They always sow them in drills. They make the drills with a plough. When they have the drills made they bring out the manure in carts and
