- There was a young Irishman once who went away to seek his fortune. On his way he met a little man who was a magician and this man asked him where he was going and would he bring him with him as he said "I may be of some use to you" so he took him with him, and they started off together. They had not gone far until they met another man with one of his legs tied up, the magician told him to take this man with him also, as he was called the man with the swift leg and that he also would be useful, so he took him with him, and they started off again. They did not go far again until they met another man with his ear to the ground the magician said he was the man with the strong hearing so they took this man with them also.
