the morning they are fed with hay and there is a mash of Indian meal and oat meal mixed and scalded. They they are milked and let out in the fields. When a hen is hatching eggs there is a horse shoe or an old piece of iron put under the nest on which the hen is hatching. It takes three weeks hatching to hen-eggs, four weeks to duck-eggs and turkey eggs. There is a mark put on the eggs when they are going to be set.
