    He used to bring the machine with him, and before making the suit he would take the person's measure. The implements they used are:- a large rule having a straight curved edge, a pair of scissors, a measuring tape, a thimble and a needle. He takes the measurements from the shoulders to the knee, then the length and breadth of the coat, and finally the length of sleeves required.
