  1. J. H. Colclough Tintern Abbey Co. Wexford was the local landlord of the Colclough estates which included Nash, Garryduff and Saltmills and in fact the whole parish of Tintern except a few small farms in Coolroe, and Ballytarsna and those were purchased from Colclough by a man the name of Mr. A. Byrne who resided at Burkestown cross, Ballycullane Co. Wexford.
    The feeling of the people towards J. H. Colclough was very friendly as it was believed he was a very fair-minded man on the other hand the people were not over-friendly towards Byrne and would not pay him the rent due. They were satisfied to pay a certain amount, but this Byrne would not accept and carried out evictions, the principal of which was at Somer's fort Coolroe.
    The evicted people lived with their neighbours and some in huts on the Colclough estates, later, they returned to their homes and new houses were built for them under the Grant System.
