- In the year eighteen hundred and forty five on the eleventh of January a great storm took place.
It is now ninety three years ago.In that year there were many storms but that was the greatest of them all.
It killed some sheep and cattle and a horse belonging to a farmer in Bannow.There was a young man, coming from Carrig in a horse and cart and as he was in the middle of the trees.
